Play of the Day: Colin Powell's Candid Comments Reflect the American Mood
In stolen emails, the former State Department chief denigrated both Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton.
Donald Trump taped an appearance with debunked supplement peddler Dr. Mehmet Oz Wednesday and made headlines by reiterating his love of fast food because "at least you know what they are putting in it." Late Night's Seth Meyers joked that Trump's off-base because his beloved KFC specifically specifically tries to keep its recipe secret.
Former Secretary of State Colin Powell's personal email was hacked recently and some of the correspondence shows Powell at his saltiest. In his emails, Powell called Trump "a national disgrace" and "an international pariah," which Meyers tied to Mariah Carey, while Late Show's Stephen Colbert joked that Trump's also a "national pariah" and "an international disgrace." Conan O'Brien highlighted Powell calling Trump a "disgrace," Hillary Clinton "greedy" and Dick Cheney "an idiot," saying Americans would say Powell was "three-for-three" in his assessments.
