Play of the Day: Donald Trump's Star Wars Connection
No, "Rogue One" didn't change its plot to reflect the president-elect. But he's more like the Star Wars franchise than you think.
On Friday, president Barack Obama spoke about the Russian interference in American politics, saying he told Vladimir Putin to "cut it out." Saturday Night Live's Colin Jost joked about the news over the weekend, saying a murderous dictator isn't exactly going to listen to a catchphrase from Full House.
Supporters of president-elect Donald Trump have suggested that Rogue One, the new entry into the Star Wars franchise, is anti-Trump. The producers of the movie have denied this, but The Tonight Show's Jimmy Fallon joked that the entire franchise and Trump take from one another, from Chewbacca's noises to some of the Empire's phrasing.
