Play of the Day: Trump Is In Touch With the American People
On Thursday, Trump asked "I'm president. Can you believe it?"
White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus told a reporter Thursday that "The president stepped up and helped punt the ball into the end zone" in regards to the AHCA vote (though, he more likely said "punch the ball into the end zone"). Despite criticism of the analogy, Late Show's Stephen Colbert said the analogy worked because it "gets you zero points and gives your opponent good field position."
At an event celebrating the AHCA vote, President Donald Trump said "I’m president! Hey, I’m president! Can you believe it, right?" Colbert deadpanned "No, we still can't" into the camera, while The Daily Show's Trevor Noah said Trump asking the question means he's in touch with the American people after all.
